Management Information Systems Information system needs critical to the Department's operation are the responsibility of the Information Technology (IT) and Geographic Information System (GIS) sections. The Information Technology section manages the Department's entire network infrastructure, including hardware, software, remote backup and storage and help desk duties.
The Geographic Information System section maintains the property ownership databases and records that are vital to the Department as it formulates management strategies for the lands under its control. It also administers the Department's GIS web site, which provides access to land records, published maps, aerial photography sources and digital maps of the entire state.
