MIS Bureau
The MIS Bureau has two sections that provide coordination and administration of the Department's computer information and telecommunication system, land records and the geographic information systems (GIS).

Information Technology (IT) Section - The IT section is responsible for maintaining current computer hardware, network-telecommunications infrastructure and computer programming needs of the Department of Lands, as well as implementing new technologies as available.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Section - The GIS section is responsible for providing, within the Department of Lands, plat accurate land ownership information for state-owned land (Idaho Code 58-119); maintaining activity records for land administered by the Department; providing expertise and service in the fields of GIS, cartography, drafting, graphic design, remote sensing and aerial photography or other similar technical fields that would not otherwise be available to the Department.
