Organizational Structure
The Department of Lands is overseen by the Idaho State Board of Land Commissioners. Land Board membership consists of the Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Controller and Superintendent of Public Instruction. The Land Board also has involvement with the Federal Lands Task Force and the Endowment Fund Investment Board. The Department of Land's Director is appointed by, and reports to, the Land Board. Management Information Systems - Information Technology and Geographic Information Systems. IT Resources are managed by our Director's Office in Boise and Coeur d'Alene Staff Office.
Real Estate - The Bureau of Real Estate manages the following: Land Bank, appraisals, exchanges, easements, disclaimers, rights-of-way, surplus property sales, temporary permits authorizing land uses on endowment lands, such as roads, utility lines, reservoirs, ditches, pipelines, corrals and hydroelectric projects, and maintenance of inventory and title records of all state land.
Surface and Mineral Resources - The Surface and Mineral Resources Bureau includes Minerals * , Navigable Waters, Cottage Sites, Commercial and Surface Leasing, Grazing and Cropland Leasing.

Fire Management and National Fire Plan - protects six million acres of private, state and federal forest lands in Idaho and provides technical assistance to local fire departments throughout the state
Forest Management - The Forest Management Bureau coordinates and administers forest products sales, forest improvement, forest inventory and measurement of all designated forest products from endowment lands. -- Timber Sales Plans by Year --
