Nature will gradually bring a forest or rangeland back to life after a wildfire, but it can be a slow process to return landscapes to their management objectives. Idaho Department of Lands Private Forestry Specialists are on staff to visit your property, assess the damage, identify impacted trees that are at risk of future insects and disease, advise on the best regeneration approaches, and help connect landowners with grant funds to help cover the costs. Use this page to find resources and assistance.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is the primary cost incentives source. They provide assistance in a myriad of forestry and agriculture management practices. Idaho Department of Lands Private Forestry Specialists provide forestry technical services to support NRCS cost-incentive practices. For example, the NRCS Moscow Field Office is working with landowners that have been affected by the Bedrock, Leland Complex, and Idler Fires of 2021.
