Valiant Idaho, LLC, and Valiant Idaho II, LLC, have submitted an application for a permit with Idaho Department of Lands to permit a commercial marina, to install riprap, to install a pedestrian bridge and to dredge on Lake Pend Oreille. Location: Parcels RP031740000010A and RP031740000020A, adjacent to 88 N. Park Road, Hope, Idaho, 83836 in Section 16/17 Township 57 North, Range 1 East; B.M., in Bonner County.

A public hearing will be held for this project. An in-person, two-day, public evidentiary hearing is scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2024, at Sandpoint High School Auditorium located at 410 S. Division Ave., Sandpoint, ID. The hearing will commence at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time and conclude at 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time on both days. The hearing held on October 7 will focus on the Valiant 2’s application for encroachment and the modifications made since the initial application; the time will then be opened to public comment. Any additional public comment will continue on October 8, if necessary.

Idaho Code § 58-1306(c) states: “Any applicant or other aggrieved party so appearing at a hearing shall have the right to have the proceedings and decision of the board reviewed by the district court in the county where the encroachment is proposed by filing notice of appeal within thirty (30) days from the date of the board’s decision.” To become an official party to this proceeding please follow the Office of Administrative Hearing’s regulatory provisions governing interventions – Idaho Administrative Procedure Act (IDAPA) 62.01.01.700-706.
