Click on any of these popular Idaho recreation destinations to see what fire restrictions are currently in place. We’ve made it easy to find fire restrictions at state parks and national forests.
Fire restrictions are meant to help prevent unwanted human-caused wildfires in state parks, forests and rangelands. There are Stage 1 and Stage 2 restrictions, each with specific activities that are permitted or prohibited.
Fire restrictions are established using statewide-approved guidelines following the criteria established in the interagency 2024 Idaho Fire Restrictions Plan.
When fire restrictions are in place, following them is required by law. Know Before You Go when visiting Idaho’s state parks and national forests
