(Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) – Crews battling wildfires across the region depend upon the Idaho Department of Land’s (IDL) interagency fire cache for wildland firefighting equipment and supplies. For the second time this season, the cache issued an urgent call for help.

IDL seeks to fill ten openings for warehouse workers. These are temporary positions located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, next to the IDL offices at 3284 W. Industrial Loop. These positions will remain open until filled.

Currently, hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 6 days a week, with one scheduled day off per week. The positions pay $16.76 an hour and are eligible for overtime. Experience driving a forklift is welcomed and applicants need a driver’s license. Wildland firefighting qualifications are not required.

“Idaho, and all western states, face extreme and unprecedented wildfire conditions,” said Idaho Department of Lands Director Dustin Miller. “We’ve already hired dozens of individuals this season to work in the fire cache, but we need more help supplying and supporting wildland firefighters.”
